ETHICGOODS | Artisan-made in Thailand
For over 10 years, ETHICGOODS has employed women who are survivors of human trafficking and exploitation. Originally founded by Maegan Hawley, ETHICGOODS is now co-owned by four best friends on a mission to empower others who are becoming entrepreneurs and starting their journey on a new, hope-filled path.
ETHICGOODS helps to create economic empowerment for women impacted by human trafficking and those at risk of exploitation. We partner with nonprofits primarily in South East Asia that provide holistic care (counseling, education, and healthcare), focus on strengthening the family unit, and demonstrate a community centered approach, so that these women can pave a new hope filled path for their families. Each piece is handcrafted by the woman it helps employ.
By wearing ETHICGOODS, you become a meaningful part of her story, and contribute to freedom for women around the world because all women deserve dignified employment. We are firm believers that fashion can empower and it’s our dream and goal to increase the impact ETHICGOODS has on the women we work with and the world.
ETHICGOODS is based in Washington, DC. We work with the artisans to design each line, and while we are designers by trade, our real mission is to create relationships and opportunities to help

I loved this ring when I first saw it and got it. However, after wearing it for 2 weeks almost all of the black inside of the engraved markings has come off. I wish it had held up better. It would have been a 5 star had the quality held up. I do wear it all day everyday and shower with it on so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I also do that with all of my other jewelry as well with no issues.
Thank you Jen for bringing this to our attention. I also made our supplier aware of this, and they will pass this on to the artisans to see what can be done to reduce this issue on future products. The material inside the engraving is not metal, so excess exposure to water will make the black filling wear faster. The feedback I received from the supplier is to minimize excess exposure to water (which is a difficult thing to do with a ring, understandably).
