The shorter 16 inch strand is beaded with bright summer seed beads in shades of coral, peach, yellow, green blue and white. And the longer 18 inch strand is a gold plated cable chain with a 1 inch sunflower pendant made from yellow oblong faceted crystals for the petals and a cluster of warm brown seed beads for the center sunflower seeds wired together with gold plated wire. Alegria Accessories | Fair Trade | Hand-crafted in Honduras

Alegria Accessories was founded by the daughter of missionaries who served at Faith Home, a children’s home in Honduras. After seeing young women age out of the home without safe employment opportunities, she wanted to create a different path—one built on dignity, opportunity, and meaningful work.

In January 2021, three young women began handcrafting jewelry part-time to help launch Alegria. They started on their manager’s back porch, creating joyful, colorful pieces inspired by the Caribbean while reflecting current styles and trends.

What began with three women has grown into a team of six full-time artisans in Haiti, earning wages that help support themselves and their families.

Today, Alegria creates beautiful jewelry with a beautiful purpose: providing dignified employment and empowering women to build a better future through their own work.
