The tote bag you didn’t know you needed! Perfect for your kid who loves to read! It’s a smaller bag so ideal for kids but it could still be a great mini tote for librarians, book club friends, or your friend who loves to read. Our refugee printed tote bag not only supports the women in our program here in the US but it helps us continue our free adult literacy school in rural Rwanda! Tote bag made from recycled canvas in India!

Hands Producing Hope | Created by Refugees in Baton Rouge, LA
Hands Producing Hope is a non-profit that employees refugee women and our workshop is in Baton Rouge, LA! They focus on working with women who have a number of barriers preventing them from getting traditional employment (language barriers, degrees not transferring, childcare, transportation, etc). They provide a safe and welcoming space where we build community among the refugee women and the rest of our staff, helping the women come out of isolation and into community! They practice their English, learn artisan skills, have access to our clothing closet that we do 2+ times a year, and we try to help with individual needs as they arise!
HPH is partnered with families in three regions of the world. Their locations and situations are different but the commonalities are their lack of access to resources, they are in isolated communities, and they face discrimination.
Rwanda: remote islands on Lake Kivu
Costa Rica: an indigenous reservation in the southern region
Baton Rouge: refugee women isolated by language barriers and/or lack of transportation
